Friends and lovers of the English language, this is the second edition of something new that we are doing: I give you a story line and you prepare the words in English to tell us a story about it.
Today's story line is: you and your spouse have a child, who - after graduating from university - has a job offer in Salzburg. Your child moves to Salzburg, is staying at a B&B and finally finds an affordable flat. The flat has a tiny hallway, a very small kitchen, a living room, a bedroom and a bath.
The kitchen has a cooker and oven and some cabinets. The bedroom has a cupboard and the bath has a bath tub, a wash basin and a toilet. The person who had lived in the flat was an elderly gentlemen who has moved to a retirement home.
Your child is asking you for help with cleaning and furnishing the flat, but only Friday afternoon, Saturday and Sunday are available. You have a very small family car and can only take basic cleaning material and some tools along.
a) what do you take with you?
b) what is on your list of things you think your child will need to buy?
c) which process do you suggest to get the work/shopping done?
I am looking forward to hearing your stories!
